1. Teddy Foday-Musa

Teddy Foday-Musa is a Sierra Leonean. He graduated in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) Degree in Political Science from Fourah Bay College (FBC), the University of Sierra Leone. He is also a holder of a Post-graduate honours Diplom in Journalism and News-writing from the Londo School of Journalism (LSJ) in the United Kingdom (UK). Teddy has worked for Peace and Good-governance both in The Netherlands and in his native country Sierra Leone. In 1997, he was appointed the first Peace Representative of Sierra Leone by the World Peace Prayer Society (WPPS) based in New York. Over the years, he has gathered a wealth of work experience in Peace promotion, Good-governance and Community development projects. He has also worked with refugees and migrant communities.

His volunteer activities are a credible aspect of his work experience. He is currently working as a volunteer with the Multicultural Development Association (MDA) in Brisbane. Teddy did his three-month internship project in Ghana, in partial fulfilment of his Masters Degree program at UQ. He worked with the ‘West Africa Network for Peacebuilding’ (WANEP) in Accra. WANEP is a not-for-profit organisation working in collaborative peacebuilding. WANEP was founded in 1998 as a response to the civil wars that plagued West Africa in the late 1980s. WANEP holds the mission to enable and facilitate the development of mechanisms for cooperation among civil society-based peacebuilding practitioners, and organisations in West Africa by promoting cooperative responses to violent conflicts. WANEP has national networks in twelve of the fifteen countries in West Africa and will soon expand to Cape Verde, Mali and Niger. Its regional secretariat is located in Accra-Ghana. After graduating from UQ in July 2010, Teddy has plans to register a civil-society NGO, operational in Sierra Leone his native country. The focus and mission of the NGO shall be the empowerment of ‘Sierra Leonean Disabled Youths’ and the enhancement of unity and national cohesion in Sierra Leone. Teddy, will appreciate assistance of any kind in making his dream come true.
