Rita comes from Georgia, USA. Her sponsor Rotary club is Dawsonville Rotary Club and her host club is Mt. Gravatt. Rita is currently doing her thesis research on the global governance of HIV/AIDS. In her thesis, Rita analyses the United States' President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), its implementation in select sub-Sahara African countries and its impact and implications on the global governance of HIV/AIDS. Upon the completion of the fellowship program, Rita plans to return to the U.S. and hopes to work with global health issues.
