Rick is a lawyer from Munich, Germany. His academic focus is on the legal framework for foreign direct investments in natural resources and how changes in this framework impact on both the host country, the local community and the investor.

Rick firmly believes that strong legal frameworks can decrease the likelihood of conflict around natural resource exploration.

As a Rotary Peace Fellow he focussed on the prevention of conflicts related to the exploration of natural resources through mining and energy production through legal means.
