10. Erika Yague

Philippines

Erika is a young woman leader from the Philippines who is passionate about human rights and peace. Before becoming a Rotary Peace Fellow she worked as an International Consultant for Adolescent and Youth Programmes at the United Nations Population Fund Asia and the Pacific Regional Office (UNFPA APRO) in Bangkok, Thailand.

During her time with UNFPA, Erika has worked supporting the regional adolescent and youth programmes across the Asia and the Pacific region with particular focus on Youth Peace & Security, CSE (Comprehensive Sexuality Education), HIV/AIDS and young key population, youth leadership and participation, partnerships with other UN agencies, youth networks and organisations, and technical support to country office youth programmes. Before working with the UN, she responded to humanitarian crises in disaster and conflict areas in the Philippines through local NGOs. She graduated Cum Laude at the University of the Philippines with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Community Development. Currently, she is the focal point for Making Cities Resilient Campaign of the United Nations Major Group of Children and Youth.
