Christel works in the field of peace and conflict resolution education. She has worked with schools on curriculum development and promoting safer school climates. At the Carolina Friends School, a Qukaer school with peace education at ther core of its mission, Christel developed a course titled Rehearsal for Life based on Augusto Boal's Theater of the Oppressed. Rehearsal for Life engages students in authentically resolving their own conflicts through role-play and Forum Theater.

This lead to Christel working with disadvantaged youth in Myanmar on issues pertaining to children's rights and child trafficking through an organisation called United ACT.

Christel has also worked with CAPSLE's (Creating a Peaceful School Learning Environment) Peaceful School's Project.She has impacted educational settings around issues pertaining to social curriculum and the system of bullying and hopes to continue to empower teachers and school communities in effectively implementing a social curriculum founded in student education and the practice of conflict resolution strategies.
