After her contract ended, Chantelle extended for seven months, gaining experience with local nonprofits in areas related to youth, HIV/AIDS and nutrition. Chantelle was born in Canada and relocated to the USA at a young age. She has her Bachelor’s degree in international relations from the University of California Davis and also spent time studying at the University of British Columbia, Canada.

Chantelle's applied field experience with the United Nations Development Programme - Pacific Centre in Fiji connected her with FemLINKpacific, a women's media organisation, improving her understanding of linkages between international organisations and those working on the grassroots level.
