Class XXIV (2026–2027)
6. Vagda Galhotra – India

Vagda is a lawyer, journalist and communications professional. She litigated at the Supreme Court of India and worked as a legal policy researcher on various issues of criminal law and judicial education. As a journalist, she worked with an independent daily news edition and ran a weekly news discussion podcast. Prior to the Rotary Peace Fellowship, she helmed communications at a civic-tech organisation that strengthens dialogue between citizens and the government to make lawmaking more participative.
"Participating in the Rotary Peace Fellowship will allow me to dedicate time to researching complex challenges at the intersection of law, media, and public policy," Vagda mentions. "I am looking forward to the exposure I will gain through the program’s diverse cohort, which will give me new perspectives and innovative solutions." She believes the fellowship will help her refine strategies and contribute more meaningfully to sustainable peace and governance.
In the short term, Vagda aims to apply her learning to advance work at the nexus of law, media, and technology, exploring how strategic communication can strengthen institutions and foster development. In the long term, she aspires to create impactful solutions that use media, innovation and legal frameworks to enhance governance and drive social change.
