1. Sandra Camila Alderete Alvarez – Paraguay
Camila currently sees the Rotary Peace Fellowship as a pivotal milestone in her professional and personal journey to foster global peace and security. Through its rigorous academics, applied fieldwork, and interdisciplinary collaboration, she is evolving from a passionate nuclear disarmament advocate into a strategic leader in the global pursuit of peace. This transformative experience empowers her to amplify her technical and diplomatic contributions, crafting impactful initiatives that address pressing global challenges and promote equitable, sustainable development.
Upon completing the fellowship, Camila aims to work at the intersection of diplomacy, security, and sustainable development, focusing on multilateralism and strengthening disarmament and non-proliferation frameworks while advocating for inclusive governance systems. In the long term, she envisions becoming an effective peacebuilding force, driving a paradigm shift in international relations where peace signifies justice, equity, and sustainable governance. Her ultimate goal is to spearhead innovative initiatives that integrate nuclear disarmament with broader efforts to dismantle the military-industrial complex and promote global solidarity.
